The event is a 200km endurance ride starting and finishing at Northcliff Country Club following a route via Lanseria, The Cradle, Maropeng, Brits, Magaliesburg, Randfontein and back. It is not a race and is run along Audax guidelines where participants are provided a prescribed route map to follow and register at the prescribed controls. Cyclists complete the course under their own auspices without external support at an average speed between 15 and 30 kmph. No support vehicles are permitted. Each participant will be presented with a commemorative beer glass and a drink and boerie roll voucher after completing the course. This event is an official 200km Audax sanctioned qualifier.

MAD2Ride - a 1620km long ride from Johannesburg to Cape Town

Are you MAD enough to take on the adventure of a lifetime?
MAD2Ride is an extreme mental and physical challenge, as the journey itself is a 1620km long ride from Johannesburg to Cape Town, all within eight days. 2020 will be the third MAD2Ride tour and will take place between the 29th February and 7th March 2020.
If this wasn’t MAD enough – this is a journey unlike any other cycle tour in that each cyclist is required to bring both a road and mountain bike along, as with each day comes a new terrain; and in each day the peloton will ride an average of 200km each day. And if its MADness you are after, the journey is only complete on the 9th day of the tour, the 8th March, with the 2020 Cape Town Cycle Tour!
